Overall a great place to stay with kids for a weekend getaway or even a staycation! Really nice location right next to Mall of America and other shopping as well as the MSP Airport. They also provide shuttle busses.
Great Great place to go! But one of the staff started swearing at my cousin and I who are only 10 years old. Idk why though, we weren’t doing anything we were simply taking a tube down a slide... But the place is REALLY fun!
The materials they used were cheap and you could tell from a glance, they didn't have rooms ready, they got rid of the hot tubs which sucked (I was looking forward to them the most and so were many people), the restaurant was a buffet with subpar food and waitstaff (who seem like they don't know how to do their jobs just meandering around), everything from the food to the rooms to the gift shop cost waaaaay too much ($60 for a wolf plush, really??), the toilets didn't flush properly 98% of the time, housekeeping was a little persistent while we were getting ready (never had housekeeping rushing us before ever), and there were lamp issues in the rooms.
Are u kidding me ? not for public anymore ? The new owner made this water park only for hotel guests. Now, If you're still interested to go there, you need to pay 200$ to get a room for a night and in this case you can use water park.
Overall, I've been to much better hotels. This is a 3 star hotel. Ideal for tourists with money to spare with young children,
If you want water fun, Wisconsin Dells is better for your money.
All in all, water park is fun, but they're not ready for guests yet.
As for hotels, any of the other ones are better and the Courtyard at the Marriott restaurant has much better food for much cheaper prices that locals go to often for breakfast (funny enough it's also right next door). You can literally go down 494 to the hundreds of restaurants for better and cheaper food.
However, there were lots of problems they still need to work on.
We had a really great time at Great Wold Lodge. We spent the day in the waterpark until they closed. Be prepared for a TON of stairs to get to the group tube ride. It has 4 different seasons/ virtual lightshow inside which was really fun for my daughter to choose from. Our room was super cozy with a queen bed and bunk beds for the kids. The rooms are nice and equipped with a microwave and mini fridge and a cute little breakfast table. They have restaurants in the hotel and in the pool area which was super convenient. We unfortunately didn't get to make it to adventure park or Magiquest but it looked super cool.
Was here during the "soft open". They revamped everything and it all looks pretty great and we felt very welcomed. The water park portion was as fun as when I was there two years ago and the arcade and rock climbing looks awesome.
It's a nice clean smaller waterpark. If you're looking for that Dell's experience you'll hedge to go to the Dell's
